Kilimanjaro Adventure - Preparation
In order to climb the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro at an altitude of 5,895 meters, you have to be well prepared. Even though the several-day hike on easy to moderately difficult terrain does not require alpine skills, good physical endurance is essential.
The preparation plan therefore includes hikes as endurance training, which also has the purpose of getting a feeling for the correct distribution of strength at the mountain.
This is why Joya founders Karl Müller and Claudio Minder chose to climb the Barrhorn. The 3,610m high mountain is located in the Valais Alps and is known as the highest mountain of Europe, which can be climbed without high-alpine equipment.
As expected, Karl and Claudio summited in Joya boots, proving the compatibility of Joya outdoor boots with crampons. At the top, they experienced a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains with one or the other four thousand meter peaks - Mount Kilimanjaro can come!
